Hon. Aminat Oluwakemi Alabi, born on 12 May 1976, is a distinguished Nigerian politician, grassroots development advocate, and committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). An alumna of the Ogun State Institute of Technology, she has strengthened her public service background with professional training in revenue generation management, corporate governance, national unity, local participation, women skill acquisition, leadership, practical legislation, grassroots development, and entrepreneurship development. Hon. Alabi began her political journey in 2011 as a legislator in the Iru-Victoria Island LCDA Legislative Council. During her first tenure from 2011 to 2014, she served as Majority Leader of the House and chaired the Committee on Works and Infrastructure, supporting key community development projects and poverty alleviation initiatives. Re-elected in 2017, she became Legislative Leader of the House, presiding over council sessions and championing interventions including borehole projects in Takwa-Bay and Ogogoro Village, as well as the construction of the Takwa-Bay Jetty Footbridge. From 2021 to 2025, she retained her leadership position and chaired the Committee on Women Affairs, Poverty Alleviation and Participation (WAPPA), expanding empowerment programmes that provided vocational tools such as sewing machines, hair dryers, fishing nets, clippers, and generators to residents. She also facilitated multiple community boreholes and instituted quarterly food palliative initiatives. Her political involvement extends across strategic platforms including the Justice Forum in Eti-Osa and Iru-VI LCDA, the Iru-Victoria Island Youth Forum, and service as Chairman of the ABAT Movement.
