Oba AbdulWasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Abisogun II, is widely known as the Oniru of Iruland. He ascended the throne after the passing of Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru and was installed in June 2020, with public coronation rites following in September 2020.

Born in Lagos on July 24, 1970, he is the son of Chief Taoreed Lawal-Akapo, the Ojora of Lagos. His royal background connects him to the Ojora, Aromire, Abisogun, Shokun, and Oniru families, giving him a strong traditional lineage.

Before ascending the throne, Oba Lawal built a distinguished career in policing and public administration, including senior roles within Lagos State Government.
