He ascended the throne on June 4, 2016, after a successful professional career in maritime service. Before becoming Oba, he retired as a Captain from Joseph Sammy and Sons Nigeria Ltd.
Oba Onisiwo was born into the distinguished Ogabi Ruling House of Onisiwo, a lineage known for deep-rooted traditional heritage.
