LCDA Launches Scholarship Program for 200 Students

Iru-VI LCDA has unveiled a landmark scholarship program designed to support 200 indigent students from the local council area in their educational pursuits.

Scholarship Coverage

The scholarship program provides:

  • Full tuition coverage for selected students
  • Book and learning materials allowance
  • Monthly living stipend for tertiary students
  • Examination fees for WAEC, NECO, and JAMB
  • Mentorship program pairing students with professionals

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Be a bonafide resident of Iru-VI LCDA
  2. Demonstrate financial need
  3. Maintain a minimum academic performance standard
  4. Provide evidence of enrollment in a recognized institution
  5. Submit a recommendation letter from their school

Application Process

Applications are open from February 1 to March 31, 2026. Interested candidates can obtain forms from the Education Department office or download them from the LCDA website.

Long-term Vision

The Chairman described the program as an investment in the future of the LCDA. "Education is the most powerful tool we can give our young people. This scholarship program is our commitment to ensuring that no child in Iru-VI LCDA is left behind due to financial constraints."

The Education & Youth Development department will oversee the selection process, with an independent committee ensuring transparency and fairness.
