I extend my warmest welcome and appreciation to everyone gathered for this important event.
Today marks another significant step in our commitment to repositioning Iru-Victoria Island LCDA through purposeful development. The commissioning of Younis Bashorun Road stands as a testament to what shared vision, strategic planning, and unwavering dedication can deliver for our people.
When we assumed office, we made a firm promise to enhance critical infrastructure and revive the road network across our LCDA. Younis Bashorun Road, being one of the most strategic corridors serving residents, businesses, and daily commuters, required urgent intervention.
I am proud to announce that today we are commissioning a 600-metre, fully reconstructed and fully paved road, complete with expanded drainages, improved walkability, and upgraded structural integrity to ensure durability and smooth flow of stormwater during the rainy season.
In addition, the road has been fitted with solar-powered street lights, providing improved visibility, enhanced security, and an enabling environment for economic and social activities even after dark. This is a modern, future-ready community asset built to serve generations.
This project reinforces the infrastructure component of our administration's A.C.H.I.E.V.E.S agenda, which guides our developmental priorities. Our mission is clear: to deliver infrastructure that improves mobility, stimulates economic growth, supports safety, and elevates the standard of living for all residents.
Beyond the construction of a road, we are creating opportunities reducing travel time, easing business operations, supporting property growth, strengthening community safety, and contributing to a more organized and prosperous environment.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our engineers, contractors, project supervisors, community stakeholders, and residents who cooperated with us throughout this construction period. Your support, patience, and understanding made today's success possible.
To our youths, artisans, market women, professionals, and elderly residents this road is built for you.
To our investors and corporate allies it is a reaffirmation of our commitment to sustaining a conducive and secure environment for growth.
As we commission this project today, be assured that this is only a phase in a broader infrastructure renewal plan for Iru-Victoria Island LCDA. With your continued support, we will implement more road upgrades, environmental improvements, empowerment initiatives, and sectoral interventions across the A.C.H.I.E.V.E.S framework.
Thank you all for being part of this historic moment. Together, we will continue to build an Iru-Victoria Island LCDA that is stronger, safer, and more prosperous for all.
God bless Iru-Victoria Island LCDA.
God bless Lagos State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
